飞天翩跹穹宇，驼铃回响古道。敦煌，作为古代丝绸之路重镇，多元文明在此交汇。

敦煌莫高窟是享誉世界的艺术宝库和文化殿堂，集建筑艺术、彩塑艺术、壁画艺术、佛教文化于一身，历史底蕴雄浑厚重，文化内涵博大精深。

2019年8月19日，习近平总书记在甘肃考察调研时，首站便来到敦煌莫高窟。他强调，要十分珍惜祖先留给我们的这份珍贵文化遗产，坚持保护优先的理念，加强石窟建筑、彩绘、壁画的保护，运用先进科学技术提高保护水平，将这一世界文化遗产代代相传。

坚持“保护、研究、弘扬”，如今的敦煌，以文化为魂、以科技为翼，千年壁画焕发新生，正成为世界文化遗产保护的典范。
